For our group magazine project, Savour Montreal, I collaborated with other designers to create a guide to the city’s best local food and retail spots. Each team member focused on a specific district, where we curated and wrote about five “hidden gem” locations to provide an authentic look at the neighborhood’s culture. This project was a great lesson in collaborative design and layout, requiring us to blend our individual styles into one cohesive publication. The final result is a polished, community-focused magazine that celebrates the diverse character of Montreal’s streets.

I took the lead on designing the cover and as you can see, I went through a couple different variations before landing on the final one. I established a bold visual identity by featuring “hidden gems” like Qing Hua Dumpling, using playful fonts to draw readers in. To make the publication feel authentic, I integrated professional details like a barcode and issue number. I also used high-energy taglines for local attractions, such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and La Grande Roue, to capture the modern spirit of the city
